February Horoscopes

by Valerie Mesa

February is here, which means we’re halfway through the winter season. What have you learned? What did you build? What kind of boundaries were set? While many of us were struggling with the ruthless energy of Capricorn season, others persevered, and got down to business. For instance, Capricorn’s cardinal earth taught us the meaning of discipline and focus, while instilling structure, and foundation. Speaking of, this past eclipse propelled us into a new era, where many of us were confronted by our current reality, and reminded of what needs restructuring.

Aquarius season, on the other hand, is here to awaken our inner rebel and humanitarian spirit. Its air is fixed and ice-cold, similar to the seemingly endless void that surrounds the earth in outer space. If you really think about it, Aquarius is the future, and this is our divine process of creation. Remember, for Aquarius, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, which is why this stellar season reminds us of our individual quirks, and unique mission in the world. With that said, take a minute to reflect on the things that make you different from everyone else. What can you do to make a difference in the world?

Moreover, this month is jam-packed with cosmic events, and we’re more than likely going to feel the energetic shifts. For starters, Venus enters Capricorn this month, and while Capricorn is notorious for being cold and stern, this energy is excellent for solidifying some of the spontaneous connections we made while Venus was in Sagittarius. Whether it be romantically or professionally, Venus in Capricorn does NOT play games. On the contrary, this transit wants us to create realistic boundaries, and consider the future, when it pertains to our relationships, spending habits, and values in general.

The new moon in Aquarius, the following day, will be innovative and unconventional. Remember, Aquarius is ruled by electric Uranus, planet of chaos and unexpected change, which means, if you decide to set intentions *which I genuinely hope you do* don’t hesitate to think outside the box. This lunation will be making a positive connection to lucky Jupiter, which adds hope, expansion, and overall optimism. Warrior Mars slides into Taurus, just in time for Valentine’s Day, reminding us to stop and smell the roses, literally. Chiron *the wounded healer* slides back into Aries, on the same day the sun enters Pisces, and the full moon in Virgo will remind us of the seeds we planted back in September 2018.

ARIES

Good news, Aries: February is a little less work, and a little more play. With the sun beaming over your career zone during Capricorn season, you might’ve been stressing your next career move, or perhaps dealing with a prominent parental figure’s burdens. Some of you might’ve gotten more clarity in regards to your professional life, while others were given no choice but to set some much-needed boundaries. Whatever the case may be, take advantage of this time to look towards a brighter future, and put your best foot forward. The sun is in rebellious Aquarius, energizing and revitalizing your friendship groups, and extended network. This is a great time for you to network, collaborate, and connect with like-minded individuals. Moreover, the new moon on Feb. 4 will bring fresh new beginnings to this area of your life, as well as to your public sphere. This lunation could also spark exciting ventures abroad, or in regards to your education, and personal philosophy. Venus enters serious Capricorn on Feb. 3, which means you might be making some of these connections (as per above) in the workplace. Who knows, maybe some of you are finally bonding with your higher-ups, and making a good impression with the C-Suite. Either way, this is a great time to build something solid, as Venus in Capricorn encourages us to be realistic with our relationships, and values. On another note, your ruling planet Mars enters sensual Taurus, and your money zone, just in time for Valentine’s Day. This will give you the energy to make some extra cash, which works out perfectly, because you’ll be in the mood to splurge. Chiron, “the wounded healer,” slides into your sign on Feb. 18, where it will remain through 2027. In astrology, Chiron is both our childhood wound, and our biggest superpower. This energy is here to help you work through your struggles, especially those related to your identity, and sense of self. That same day, the sun enters dreamy Pisces, and your 12th house of closure, subconscious realms, and behind the scenes work. This is a great time for you to get some much-needed rest, Aries babe. Sit. Reflect. Enjoy the silence. This is your last slumber before your solar revolution, and your rebirth in the spring. There will be a full moon in meticulous Virgo the following day, bringing closure to your health habits, and day-to-day routine in general. *This lunation is a cosmic culmination of the new moon in Virgo that took place in September 2018.* What’s changed in regards to your health habits, and work routine since?

TAURUS

Working hard, or hardly working, Taurus? Granted, with the sun shining over your ninth house of adventure and travel all throughout Capricorn season, the majority of you were probably venturing into unknown territory, or perhaps taking some much-needed risks. Some of you had the privilege of traveling for either work or leisure, while others might have signed up for a semester abroad. Whatever the case may be, this is your time to shine, Taurus babe. Aquarius season is here, and its innovative rays are bringing energy and vitality to your career sector. Oh, Taurus...I know how much you love to stand out, but don’t be surprised if your workload starts to pile up. Not to worry, the season of the water bearer is here to remind you of your inner rebel, humanitarian, and creative genius. In fact, the new moon on Feb. 4 will bring new beginnings to your professional life, and perhaps a fresh new perspective, in regards to your career path. It’s time to think outside the box, Taurus. I know how much you love your routine, but there’s no way you’ll experience change, unless you do something about it first, right? Speaking of change, Mars, the warrior planet, slides into your sign on Valentine’s Day, and well, you will be feeling as sensual as ever, and with a little extra surge of red-hot passion, all thanks to Mars, of course. More importantly, Chiron “the wounded healer,” slides into Aries on Feb. 18, where it will remain through 2027. In astrology, Chiron is both our childhood wound, and our biggest superpower. Contradicting, isn’t it? Let go and let God, Taurus. This energy is here to help you find spiritual closure, and surrender to the universe. Granted, there’s definitely some karmic work for you here, but that doesn’t mean you need to stress it. On the contrary, it’s time you learn how to have more faith. That same day, the sun enters dreamy Pisces, energizing and revitalizing your teams, tribe, and friendship groups. (Plays The Beatles’ “With a Little Help from My Friends”) One thing’s for sure, Taurus: in Lana Del Rey’s words, “you’re a ride-or-die whether you fail or fly,” but don’t be afraid to get out their and mingle your little heart out. Things are most definitely brewing for you, and well, you know what they say, it’s not what you know, it’s who you know, right? Changes are coming, and I know you feel it, too. There will be a sparkling full moon in Virgo the following day, bringing closure to your love and creativity sector. *This lunation is a cosmic culmination of the new moon in Virgo that took place in September 2018.* Congratulations, Taurus. You’re projects are flourishing beautifully, and some of you might finally be recognized for your impeccable details, and hardwork. Shine bright like a diamond, Taurus.

GEMINI

How’d you like your cosmic metamorphosis, Gemini? With the sun beaming over your intensity-filled eighth house of sex and transformation all throughout Capricorn season, the majority of you could have been experiencing some emotional breakthroughs, and perhaps far-reaching changes. Granted, nobody likes to have the rug pulled from beneath them, but then again, sometimes we’re given no choice but to make a significant change, right? Whatever the case may be, there’s no giving up now, Gemini. On the contrary, this is your moment of truth, as the sun is in rebellious Aquarius expanding your horizons, and bringing you exciting new perspectives on travel, and education. So, whether you’re visualizing your future as a fabulous entrepreneur, or making exotic connections abroad, the season of the water bearer is here to remind you that it’s OK to be radical. Speaking of which, the new moon on Feb. 4 will spark new beginnings that could potentially unfold during the full moon in Aquarius in August 2019. Hint: think BIG. Focus on the box of sand, rather than the grains of sand, Gemini. By that I also mean, don’t waste time focusing on petty rumours, and unnecessary details. Focus on your goals, and please, please, don’t be afraid to take a risk! Mars gets together with Uranus in Taurus on Valentine’s Day, and this cosmic combination can be a bit reckless, if you’re not thinking rationally. Don’t make impulsive decisions, Gemini. Mars and Uranus can be a bit rambunctious. Nevertheless, Mars in Taurus will shake up your twelfth house of closure, dreams, and secret enemies, until Mar. 31. Despite the overall eeriness, and air of shade, this transit is ideal for catching up on some much-needed shut-eye. So, don’t hesitate to do so. You need a break. It’s as simple as that. On another note, Chiron, “the wounded healer,” slides into Aries on Feb. 18, where it will remain through 2027. In astrology, Chiron is both our childhood wound, and our biggest superpower. This energy is here to help you work through everything related to your friendship circles, tribe, and sense of belonging, Gemini. That same day, the sun enters dreamy Pisces, energizing and revitalizing your career zone, and professional endeavors. You have a vision, and there’s no getting in the way of that. Period. Also, I know your right-brain is telling you to have compassion, and your left-brain is telling you the complete opposite, but your first instinct is hardly ever wrong. #JustSaying There will be a gorgeous full moon in Virgo the following day, bringing you closure and clarity, in regards to your home, family, and soul foundation. *This lunation is a cosmic culmination of the new moon in Virgo that took place in September 2018.* What’s changed in regards to your soul purpose, family dynamic, and living situation since? There’s no place like home, Gemini.

CANCER

Boundaries are a blessing, Cancer. Besides, I’m sure Capricorn season (and the eclipse) taught you a thing or two about the people in your life. To keep around, or not to keep around, that is the question. Relationship themes, and issues related to the people you surround yourself with, and associate with in general, have been top of mind for quite some time now. However, January definitely kicked it up a notch, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve made a change or two...or three. Nevertheless, it’s the season of the water bearer, and your moment of truth, Cancer babe. See, the thing is, you’re still evolving, and you can’t rush the process, no matter how difficult it is to endure. However, I will say this, I know you’re always in your feels, but Aquarius is the exact opposite, so do yourself a favor, and detach. Break free from the norm, and focus on the logical side of the situation. You can do this. Speaking of, the new moon in Aquarius on Feb. 4 will spark new beginnings that could potentially unfold during the full moon in Aquarius in August 2019. By the way, this lunation can spark some intensity, so don’t hesitate to take a step back, and detach from the D-R-A-M-A. Moreover, Mars slides into sensual Taurus, and your ride-or-die friendship zone on Valentine’s Day, so you’ll probably be in the mood to spend time with your crew, as opposed to a romantic night out. Although, you have been making some serious adjustments, in regards to your relationships and such, but feel free to get out there and mingle, Cancer. Also, for those of you looking to collaborate with your extended community, this is great energy to start with. On another note, Chiron, “the wounded healer,” slides into Aries on Feb. 18, where it will remain through 2027. In astrology, Chiron is both our childhood wound, and our biggest superpower. This energy is here to help you work through everything related to your career, life mission, and reputation in the world. It’s not that you hate recognition, you simply don’t do well with criticism. There is magic in the unknown, Cancer. Don’t be afraid to take a risk. Whatever the case may be, Aquarius season is here, which means it’s time for you to cozy up to your S.O. I’m not going to lie, Leos aren’t very fond of Aquarius season, considering it’s your polar opposite sign; hence more reason to spend time with your boo thang. Mars enters stubborn Taurus, and your career zone, on Valentine’s Day, so feel free to pour that red-hot passion into your professional goals, and ambitions. Oh, Leo. You love the spotlight, and with assertive Mars firing up the area of your reputation in the world, you’ll have the energy and perseverance to tackle your to-do list in no time. On the darkside, however, you could come off impulsive and overly aggressive, thanks to Mars’ warrior mentality, so take it easy. On another note, Chiron, “the wounded healer,” slides into Aries on Feb. 18, where it will remain through 2027. In astrology, Chiron is both our childhood wound, and our biggest superpower. This energy is here to help you work through everything related to your faith, personal philosophy, and your perception of life as a whole. Don’t be afraid to take a risk, Leo. That same day, the sun enters dreamy Pisces, energizing and revitalizing your intimacy zone. Themes, and perhaps, wounds related to your values, possessions, and relationship with money could resurface during this time. Don’t get it twisted. You deserve so much, Pisces. Speaking of, the sun slides into your magical sign on Feb. 18… Happy Birthday and solar return, you magical unicorn, you. It’s time for you to come out and play. No more reflecting, re-evaluating, and stressing unnecessarily. The stars in the sky are shining just for you, Pisces darling. Last but certainly not least, there will be a full moon in meticulous Virgo, and your seventh house of relationships, the following day. *This lunation is a culmination of the new moon in Virgo that took place in September 2018.* What’s changed in regards to your partnerships, and committed relationships since? Are you actually making things official, Pisces? This is your grand finale.
